The Canadian Grasslands Cooperation & Conservation

The Canadian Grasslands Cooperation & Conservation

By now, most people are aware of the substantial toll that human progress has taken on our delicate natural ecosystems. The Great Barrier Reef, the Amazon Rainforest… but what about right here in Canada?

The Canadian grasslands that exist in our prairie provinces stretch down our continent and contain a massive area of rich, unique, & important biodiversity. For countless years, this region thrived with herds of bison, and endless cycles of growth, burn-off, and regrowth.

Like other vulnerable ecosystems, however, changes in climate & human interaction have altered the natural rhythm of this space, and conservancy efforts are of key importance to preserving them.

Leading the way in awareness & conservation is the Canadian Roundtable for Sustainable Beef (CRSB): a collective gathering of organizations focused solely on improving environmental, social & economic sustainability in Canadian beef. Preserving the Canadian grasslands for years & generations to come is at the forefront of those efforts, celebrating the role of conservation and cattle in our Canadian heritage & way of life.
